Problem

Growth to 950 stores across 31 states had taxed existing systems. An extensive project was proposed to the existing facility, but it was imperative to complete the entire installation during holiday shut down of 19 days without Interruption!

Solution

Replaced 22 divert pop-up sorter and merge with a new 22 divert high-speed shoe sorter (120cpm) and merge system. Installed (5) Mettler Toledo scales. Replaced all the sensors on the existing Buschman conveyor with photocell sensors for better handling. Also used: HK-Systems high speed sorter (120cpm) and photocell accumulator conveyor, Transnorm belt curves and merge table, Mettler Toledo scales and Hy-Tek photocell conversion kits, and a Pyramid Control Systems conveyor control system with system monitor WMS interface with the CATO Legacy System.

Results

$2.1M project completed during holiday shut down of nineteen (19) days without interruption.
